I worked for a startup from 2000 to 2006. The company started out very very casual. Our first security system had blank badges, and then we had badges with our post title and a picture on them.
I set up the badge system, and realized at one point that the other side of the badge was completely blank. And an image could be printed on it.
That wasn’t unusual – I could have added a sticker or drawn on it. What I did was run it through with my post title, and a cartoon picture instead of my official portrait. One side was completely normal – and the other had this:
I got some great reactions from new staff as we got larger, and a laugh from the CEO (and a discussion of what he would put on the back of his, before he decided it would be a distraction).
