I have a joint dropbox I share with my wife, and a personal dropbox account for professional docs.
These articles, followed, allowed running two separate, easily identifiable instances of Dropbox on a MAC.

I used the preferences to set one icon as black and white, leaving the second colored blue. I setup a top level file named "_this_is_dropbox-pro" and "_this_is_dropbox-joint". The underscore at the beginning ensures that it sorts at the beginning when the folder is sorted by name. . I also removed the Dropbox Favorite link for the new second instance and then added the top level folder "Dropbox-JNT" (which contains "Dropbox") in instead. So ultimately I have "Dropbox" (the original folder) and "Dropbox-JNT" (the new second instance).
